Where is the information for File Recovery stored in Toad?
Toad was force closed when a PC restart was done. On launching Toad, there was no prompt to 'Recover Documents'. Going to File | Recover Documents stated that there were "no files found to recover"
In the User Files folder (C:\Users\<personal folder>\AppData\Roaming\ Dell or Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\<version>\User Files) temporary files are created for each open editor file. They begin with ~eb. The file ~EditorBackups.txt contains a list of all the filenames.
This is how Toad keeps track of files to recover if needed. When toad/editor closes normally they get removed. If not, then Toad will reopen and prompt to recover these files.
If these are no longer needed you can look for these ~ebxxxx.tmp files in the 'User Files' folder and remove them.
