After connecting to the database successfully, Toad hangs when launching Schema Browser. Left it overnight to see if Schema Browser tabs would be populated, but nothing happens. Toad is connected via VPN and has been working OK before.
When not connected to a VPN, only when logged in as the SYS user, launching the Schema Browser causes Toad to hang.
Queries generated in the background when launching the Schema Browser are detected as attacks by the firewall.
Reconfigure the VPN\Firewall settings to allow all queries generated when launching the Schema Browser logged in as a normal, DBA, SYS, or SYSTEM (as SYSDBA or SYSOPER) user.
The best way to find the queries affected by the issue is to run the SQL Monitor tool from Toad for Oracle:
1. Launch Toad.
2. Go to Database | Monitor | SQL Monitor in the main menu.
3. Place a check mark on 'toad.exe' when it launches. Then leave it running, no need to press anything else.
4. Switch over to Toad.
5. Recreate the issue again and the SQL Monitor will record what Toad is doing in the background.
