Alarm fired from deactivated agent -
Description
An alert was received from Foglight after the rule was disabled in Foglight. There is no copy of the rule in the Foglight system and no other Foglight FMS systems are monitoring the host. -
Cause
The Foglight Agent Manager ran out of space and the agent was running in the background and didn't shut down.
The following message was found in the Foglight Agent Manager log file
WARN [Quartz[0]-1] com.quest.glue.core.agent.PersistAgentStatesTask - Agent states could not be saved to /local/quest/foglight/Foglight_Agent_Manager/state/default/agents/agentproperties.cachejavax.xml.bind.MarshalException- with linked exception:[java.io.IOException: No space left on device] -
Resolution
To make space available, old support bundles, log files from previously installed cartridges, and a core dump in the $fglam\state\default memorywarning on the Foglight Agent Manager were deleted. This reduced the space used for the Foglight Agent Manager directory structure from 100% to 62% on the server's drive.
