Is there a way to programmatically determine if a Foglight Agent Manager is local or remote aside from some kind of naming convention or HA status?
The language in the service layer documentation is used in such a way that a described "remote FglAM" may just as well be an FglAM running remotely from the FMS (i.e. a locally installed FglAM on a monitored host could be considered as being controlled remotely).
The FglAM is agnostic to what is being monitored by its agents. For a program to know if the agents running on the FglAM are monitoring locally, the code would have to do a check against the agent. So for example IC agent it would query for monitoring host object and compare the value to FglAM host.
Enhancement Request FOGGENERAL-I-137 has been logged to add an object to the topology to differentiate this.
