User opens the SGA Trace window and selects a query. Toad appears to hang when selecting certain queries. If the user lets Toad run long enough, they may find that the query eventually returns.
Same issue occurs when user attempts to format a package using Wrapped Formatter setting.
When the user clicks on a query, Toad automatically runs Formatter on the query to be displayed at the bottom of the screen. Some options in Formatter can cause slower performance than others such as setting the Formatter List options to Wrapped.
STATUS:
This issue has been reported to the development team and is waiting for fix in a future release of Toad for Oracle.
WORKAROUND:
1. Click on View | Formatting Options
2. On the left hand side select List Arrangements | List Defaults.
3. On the right hand side, select List Arrangements to either Stacked options.
4. On the left hand side, go down the List Arrangement categories and set each option to "Default" or either Stacked options.
