Description

The following error occurs when trying to alter a specific stored procedure, or generate SQL creation script for the procedure, within Object Explorer. The procedure can successfully be altered in SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)

Cause

Script contained the following:
"SET ANSI_NULLS ON
GO
SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON
GO
;
CREATE PROCEDURE..."
Although, the procedure script can be run successfully in the Editor, the semi-colon just prior to the CREATE PROCEDURE command is causing parser problems, when doing the ALTER from Object Explorer
Resolution

Remove the semi-colon (;) and rerun the script
"SET ANSI_NULLS ON
GO
SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON
GO
CREATE PROCEDURE..."
