Collections running queries on Oracle RAC on 11.2.0.1 against DBA_UNDO_EXTENTS run slow and causes CPU overhead (4310315)

Customer using Oracle RAC on 11.2.0.1 experiences very long running queries which can run for hours or longer and end unsuccessfully due to a ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication message. Due to the poor performance, customer cannot see datafile or tablespace details in the Oracle dashboard drilldowns.

Running in the nodes take several days and are unsuccessful.

Performance can be impacted on Oracle objects including: v$datafile, v$database, dba_undo_extents, undo$, ts$, and x$ktfbue.

This may be related to unpublished Oracle bug 5251842 

Customer upgrade Oracle RAC instance to 11.2.0.3 and performance returned to normal.
