To use the connection test utility
1). Download the attached connection test zip file name TestSybaseJconn-2020-3-5.zip
2). Copy the file to the Foglight Agent Manager and unzip the file on the server
3). To run the connection test, use the command
A). On Linux
{FglAM_Home}/jre/${VERSION}/jre/bin/java -classpath ".:./jconn4-7.0.1.jar:./bcprov-jdk15on-1.61.jar" TestSybaseJconn
B). On Windows
%FglAM_HOME%/jre/%VERSION%/jre/bin/java -classpath ".;./jconn4-7.0.1.jar;./bcprov-jdk15on-1.61.jar" TestSybaseJconn
4). To test the replication server (RS) use the following entries
input host name or IP for RS
input port for RS
input username
input password
input "1"
input SQL (Example: select @@servername)
The output file will display a series of connection test responses for the "Support password encryption for RS" in the agent status properties.
6). To test the RSSD, ASE servers use the following entries
input host name or IP for ASE which contain RSSD, ASE
input port for ASE
input username
input password
input "2"
input database name for the RSSD, ASE server
input SQL (Example: admin version)
The output file will display a series of connection test responses for the "Support password encryption for RSSD" in the agent status properties.
The ENCRYPT_PASSWORD connection property specifies whether the password is transmitted in encrypted format.
When both ENCRYPT_PASSWORD and RETRY_WITH_NO_ENCRYPTION properties are set to true, jConnect first logs in using the encrypted password. If login fails, jConnect logs in using the clear text password.
