Foglight service not started after silent install on SELinux -
Description
After a successful silent installation of the the Foglight Management Server (FMS) and the FMS is restarted, the Foglight service is not started in SELinux.
To reproduce the steps
- Complete a silent installation of the FMS on SELinux
- Restart the Virtual Machine or Server
- Start the FMS
- Run this command
systemctl list-units --type=service - Expected result: Foglight service is started
Actual result: Foglight service is not started

Cause
The problem seems to be related to the SELinux configuration on that VM that is preventing the Foglight service from starting. After changing the SELinux from "enforcing" to "permissive", the service started. -
Resolution
The System Administrator should change the security settings to allow the Foglight service to run.
- Open the /etc/selinux/config file in a text editor of your choice
- Set the SELINUX value to SELINUX=permissive
- Restart the system (i.e. reboot)
- After the system restarts, confirm that the getenforce command returns the value Permissive
