Backups continuously grow larger with no visible increase in DIT or SYSVOL

Resolution
It is possible that at some time in the past differential backups were enabled in the environment. Please check the registry on the DC to see if DSA Heuristics key is present.

On the target domain controller, start Registry Editor (Regedit.exe) and then locate and select the following registry key:
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NTDS\Parameters. - See if the key "DSA Heuristics" is present
- Delete "DSA Heuristics" key.
- For the changes to take effect, restart the target DC.
