When attempting to add an Exchange Database (EDB) using the Add Storage wizard, Recovery Manager for Exchange attempts to replay the database and returns the following error message:
"Unable to connect to <<Path to location of EDB>>' database (attach: ''): Non database file or corrupted db"
This is due to a corrupt EDB file (Exchange Database). Recovery Manager requires a consistent EDB file to work.
Even if the EDB works with Exchange Recovery Storage Groups, RMEX requires that the EDB be consistent. ESEUTIL details the state of the database.
Ensure the Exchange Database is consistent by running ESEUTIL /G to check status of EDB. If corrupt run ESEUTIL /P to repair the database then attempt adding the EDB to Recovery Manager for Exchange again.
