Critical error received opening the console after changing a certificate (4304156)

After adding an Authority Signed Certificate to Desktop Authority Manager Console using Desktop Authority Setup Tool or Internet Information Service Manager, a Critical error is received when accessing the console.

Checking the log file DAConsole_errors.log located in Program Data folder:

On system until version 10.0.0.450
C:\ProgramData\Dell\DAConsole\
On system after version 10.1
C:\ProgramData\Quest\DAConsole\

This line can be found:

2017/08/04 15:17:18.560 ERROR [10] LogInstance : Init win service client
ScriptLogic.DAConsole.Common.ExceptionHandling.DAUnrecoverableFatalException: ErrSMWinServiceCommunication ---> System.ServiceModel.Security.MessageSecurityException: Identity check failed for outgoing message. The expected DNS identity of the remote endpoint was '*.certificate.domain' but the remote endpoint provided DNS claim 'www.certificate.domain'. If this is a legitimate remote endpoint, you can fix the problem by explicitly specifying DNS identity 'www.certificate.domain' as the Identity property of EndpointAddress when creating channel proxy.

STATUS:  This issue has been resolved in version 10.2, which can be downloaded from here.

WORKAROUND for earlier versions:

1. Search in the log  file the domain expected by the certificate, for example www.certificate.domain. The log file DAConsole_errors.log can be found in Program Data folder located at:
        On system until version 10.0.0.450
               C:\ProgramData\Dell\DAConsole\
        On system after version 10.1
               C:\ProgramData\Quest\DAConsole\
2. Open notepad.exe with administrative privileges (Run as administrator) in the Desktop Authority server.
3. Use notepad to open web.config file located in console folder in the desktop authority installation directory:
       On system until version 10.0.0.450
              C:\Program Files (x86)\Dell\Desktop Authority\Desktop Authority Manager\DAConsole (for 64-bit systems)
              C:\Program Files\Dell\Desktop Authority\Desktop Authority Manager\DAConsole (for 32-bit systems)
       On system after version 10.1
              C:\Program Files (x86)\Quest\Desktop Authority\Desktop Authority Manager\DAConsole (for 64-bit systems)
              C:\Program Files\Quest\Desktop Authority\Desktop Authority Manager\DAConsole (for 32-bit systems)
4. Find the line:
   (notice that "certificate.domain" will change to meet the actual domain name in certificate).
5. Right after the above line, insert a new one with this information:
   
   (notice that certificate.domain will change to meet the domain name in certificate).
   Note: original line must not be deleted.
   The lines will look like:
   
   
6. Save the file.
7. Open the Desktop Authority Manager Console.
