What are these files and how can we prevent them from being created.
These files are created my Microsoft Windows sometimes when Toad encounters an error. These files are not exclusive to Toad, but any application can generate them.
.HDMP definition: Uncompressed error dump file generated by Windows XP/Vista when a program has an error or crashes; contains a "dump" of the program state when the error happened and other relevant system data recorded at the time of the error.
To disable this, right mouse click My Computer, go to Properties, Advanced, Error Reporting. Select "disable error reporting." Uncheck "but notify me when critical errors occur." This will turn of those files being created.
