Please note: erwin DM 2019 R1  will upgrade and replace your erwin 9.0, 9.2, 9.5.x, 9.6.x, 9.7, 9.8  and 2018 R1 installation. You cannot run an earlier version of erwin DM 9.x ,2018 R1 and 2019 R1 on the same physical or VM instance. 

If you have erwin DM r8.x.x installed, r9.x.x will not overwrite or upgrade your r8.x installation but will coexist separately.

Maintenance Considerations:
erwin Data Modeler 2019 R1 contains all current maintenance/fixes through 9.8 and 2018 R1. A listing of this maintenance can be found in the Fixed Issues section of the erwin DM 2019 R1 Release notes in the erwin Data Modeler 2019 R1, Mart Server, Release Notes and Bookshelf.

Licensing:

Please note that erwin DM 9.8 and above, licensing has changed. If you already have an r8.x through r9.7 license, you will need to apply for a new license to upgrade to erwin DM 2019 R1. The licensing process is different than r8.x through r9.7. 

If you have an r9.8 /2018 R1 license, you do not need a new license for erwin DM 2019 R1, but you do need to have active maintenance. If you do not have active maintenance, and you install erwin DM 2019 R1, it will upgrade your current erwin DM 9.8, but you will not be able to launch erwin DM 2019 R1. Check your Maintenance End Date by going to Help, Licensing, and verifying that the Maintenance End Date is later than April 1st, 2019

For a smooth installation, if you do not have an r9.8/2018 R1 license, apply for your erwin DM 2019 R1 license before you begin to install the product. There is no MAC ID involved.
