These two products typically do NOT work together. Some of the most obvious conflicts are as follows:
1. Both products attempt to control "targetAddress" on Active Directory user objects. This confuses mail redirection for both products.
2. Both products create objects and work with Exchange. This can create potential issues such as duplicates, and/or block certain functionality.
For example, QMM may not be able to create a mailbox if the mailbox had been previously created through QCS.
3. QMM may attempt to move QCS stub objects into different Organizational Units within Active Directory, thereby breaking QCS.
4. QCS create stub objects with only a subset of attributes that are insufficient for QMM to function properly with.
In order to use Quest Migration Manager effectively, after Quest Collaboration services has been deployed to work with the same Active Directory, it often requires manually cleaning / removing stub objects created by QCS completely and letting Migration Manager recreate any objects new.
