Cause
The cause can be one of the following:
1. Incorrect oratab
2. If the oratab is correct, then ORACLE_SID and ORACLE_HOME do not match with ones defined in the oratab file.
3. Check if Oracle has 64-Bit Libraries and SharePlex uses it.

Resolution
1. Check to see if you have multiple oratab files:# find / -name oratabYou should only have one file in /var/opt/oracle. If you have files in other locations then remove them or make sure that all oratabs have correct Oracle home and sid.If there is only one oratab, make sure the entry on oratab has correct SID and Oracle home. If there are duplicate entries or * SID, backup original oratab and remove duplicated entries and or * entries.2. Make sure that ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID are set up correctly in the environment.3. As SharePlex is a 64-Bit binary now, make sure Oracle has 64-Bit binaries available and SharePlex is using it.4. If it still does not work, then try this workaround:Enter passwd@<connection string defined in tnsnames.ora> to the user prompted by ora_setup.Starting with SharePlex 8.6.2, it is no longer required to append the password with the connect string in SQL*net environment. During running of ora_setup, SharePlex is able to gather info on connect string and is able to append the value of connect string to the password field specified by the user. Please refer to the knowledgebase article 184662 for details.
