No workload for agent in database dashboard (multiple resolutions) (4301479)

There is no workload metric in the Databases dashboard (Global View) or workload column appears as "n/a".

There are 3 common reasons for missing the workload information for a database agent.

1.  Misconfigured username and password in the Database Agent properties, or
2.  Duplicate topologies attempting to collect the same data twice for an agent into two different topology branches, or
3. If PI (Performance Investigator) is integrated in Foglight, workload metric is coming from PI. There might be issue with SQL PI.

RESOLUTION 1

1. Go to Databases dashboard and select the instance having an issue | Agent settings (or Adminster agents if on an older version of FMS) | Administration 
2. From Administration page, go to Connection Details
3. Check the monitored instance and click the "Validate connectivity"

If an error indicates an invalid username and/or password then:

1. Go to "Administration | Agents | Agent Status" under Dashboards
2. Select the database agent with the issue.
3. Click "Edit Properties"
4. Click "Modify the private properties for this agent"
5. Under "Monitored Connection Profile" re-enter the setting of "User Name" and "Password"
6. Click "Save"
7. Click "Back to Agent Status"
8. Click "Deactivate"
9. Click "Activate"

RESOLUTION 3:

Drill down into the database agent's SQL PI page and begin to troubleshoot the error based on any error that is found there.
