Multi-Forest installation trust between domains not forest level. Forest A containing SQL server and Coordinator working fine. Coordinator B in Forest B fails with a Database initialization not successful. The ConnectionString property has not been initialized.
When trying to start Coordinator B even with SQL Authenitication and credentials getting a user has not been granted access to the database server though all permissions have been set correctly.
Due to the trust being only at the domain level needed to do SQL authentication and a SQL account. Windows Firewall maybe turned on the SQL server rejecting the connection on port 1433.
To troubleshoot this issue please try the following:
Telnet to SQL server using port 1433, if the connection fails try disabling the firewall or confirming the firewall rules are correct to allow the connection to the SQL server on the port it is listening on.
If you are not able to connect to the port the SQL server is listening on, the Coordinator will not be able to connect. Review and correct the Network issue.
