Description
FglAM (Agent Manager) is running on a server that has multiple NICs. How to specify the host name or IP address that will be used for the RMI service for on-demand collections? -
Cause
Having multiple NICs on a server running the FglAM might cause the incorrect hostname or wrong IP address to be detected as the RMI server for on-demand collections. -
Resolution
To configure the on demand port to use a specific host or IP address on a server running a FglAM:
Add the following two lines (replace X and Y for any unique integer number) to the baseline.jvmargs.config file under [FglAM_HOME]/state/default/config
vmparameter.X = "-Djava.rmi.server.hostname=fglamhostname_or_ip";
vmparameter.Y = "-Dquest.host.name=fglamhostname_or_ip";
For example:
vmparameter.0 = "-Djava.rmi.server.hostname=hostname.example.com";
vmparameter.1 = "-Dquest.host.name=hostname.example.com";
The FglAM daemon or service will need to be restarted for changes to take effect.
