The Windows Mobile Devices gathering task fails with the following error:
"The following error occured while initializing the Exchange Powershell snapin [No Windows Powershell Snap-ins are available for version 1.]."
Or
"The following error occured while initializing the Exchange Powershell snapin [No Windows Powershell Snap-ins are available for version 2.]."
Or
"The Windows Mobile Devices task is not supported on a 64-bit task execution server when gathering against Exchange 2007. The task needs to be executed on a 32-bit task execution server."
The Windows Mobile Devices gathering task cannot be run on a 64-bit version of Windows Server when it is gathering from an Exchange 2007 server.
As a workaround it is possible to install a second Messagestats Task Execution Server on a 32Bit machine, and use this machine to run Windows Mobile Device Gatherings for the organization.
To install a second Task Execution Server:
1. Run the Messagestats installer on a 32Bit machine
2. Select Custom install
3. Install only the Task Execution Server, and MMC Console components
Alternatively refer to the Messagestats Quick Start Guide for more information, this can be found in the following location on the Messagestats server - C:\Program Files\Quest Software\MessageStats\Documentation.
Install the Windows Mobile Report Pack on the second Task Execution Server:
1. Run the setup for the Windows Mobile Report pack and select only the Task Processor and Reports components
Please Note: If you are running a Windows Mobile Default gathering (Windows Mobile Report Pack version 1.0.3 or later) and you have the OWA Report Pack installed on the MessageStats server (the server where the scheduler service is installed) you need to install the OWA Report Pack on the second Task Execution Server in addtion to the Windows Mobile Report Pack.
To install the OWA Report Pack:
1. run the setup for the OWA Report pack and select only the Task Processor and Reports components.
