Error when restoring object in Online Restore Wizard: "Failed to initialize reporter: Cannot open databaserequested by the login. Login Failed" -
Description
When generating the comparison report during the online restore wizard the following error may occur:
"Failed to initialize reporter: Cannot open database "DB_NAME" requested by the login. The login failed."

Cause
This error is caused by the user account that is running the Online Restore Wizard not having sufficient rights to the comparison SQL database.

Resolution
Grant the user account that is running the Online Restore Wizard (typically the account logged into the server) db_owner rights to the RMAD comparison database.
To grant users db_owner rights to the database you need to use SQL Server Management Studio, and have sufficient rights on the SQL server to create new logins and grant them rights to the database. You can grant db_owner rights to individual users or create a group and grant db_owner to the group:- Open SQL Server Management Studio and connect to the SQL server where the RMAD database is hosted
- Expand Security
- Right click Logins and select New Login
- Click Search
- Click Locations and change to your domain
- If adding a group click Object Types and check Groups
- Enter the name of the user or group and click Check Names
- Click OK
- Click User Mapping
- Check the RMAD database (RecoveryManager-Reporting-<RMADServerName>)
- Check db_owner in the bottom window and click OK
