Maintenance Plan - Differential Backups are not running. Task within sub plan is grayed out. -
Description
Issue with one of the sub plans within the parent Maintenance Plan. Differential Backups are not being run. Full backups and transaction log backups are being run as scheduled. The schedule for the differential sub plan is checked, enabled. -
Cause
The task in the sub plan for Differential backups was grayed out. The task itself was not enabled. -
Resolution
Workaround:
In the LiteSpeed GUI designer pane for Maintenance Plans
1. click on the sub plan | then on the task itself | right click and select enable.
This will change the task from gray to white (active/enabled). Then click on save. Once this was done, the differential backup ran during the next scheduled run.
