Installing Agent Managers (FglAM) on each Oracle RAC node instance -
Description
An environment is using a Oracle RAC Database with two RAC node instances (2 databases on two hosts in the cluster).When creating an Oracle (DBO) agent using the "Add Database" wizard, it automatically detected the RAC configuration but allows only one FglAM (Foglight Agent Manager) to be used for the monitoring, so the user can only select one of the two hosts.As a result, there is a SSH connection to that host using the "Local User" connection method for OS monitoring.This is the error results:>> Failure: Cannot establish connection to xxxxxx: Local credential xxxxxxx cannot be used for a remote connection: xxxxxxxHow can the OS use the "Local User" on both nodes?-----How to use a different Agent Manager for each Oracle RAC instance node from the same Oracle RAC when adding new Oracle agent from the Oracle installer wizard? -
Resolution
With the current Foglight design, it is not feasible to monitor each individual Oracle RAC nodes from the same Oracle RAC on different FglAM hosts via the DBO installer wizard. However, you can try one of these workarounds:1. Using the DBO installer wizard from Databases dashboard, add separately each individual RAC instance host to its appropriate local FglAM including the OS monitoring. So you would have 2 individual DBO agents to monitor 2 RAC instance hostsor2. Using the DBO installer wizard from Databases dashboard, add the Oracle RAC with 2 nodes using a same local FglAM (i.e. both nodes A, and B are monitored by either FglAM A or FglAM B) but without enabling OS monitoring. Then from the Infrastructure dashboard, add 2 individual Host agents to monitor the OS of these 2 RAC instance hosts.
