When trying to display the Alert Log from the Database instance Overview, the following error is displayed:
"An error occurred while trying to retrieve data to this screen. If this issue persists, contact Quest Support"
Clicking on "More details" displays the following:
Failed to execute query on host HOSTNAME. Reason : [failed sending request- Profile:FglAM Connection Profile {Host = HOSTNAME, Agent = AGENTNAME} Query: "powershell -noprofile -command "get-content <ORACLE ALERT LOG PATH> | Select-Object -last 500""]. Query : [powershell -noprofile -command "get-content <ORACLE ALERT LOG PATH> | Select-Object -last 500"
The following error is present on the Oracle DB Agent logs, suggesting a timeout on the WinRM connection:
Caused by: com.quest.glue.api.services.QueryFailedException: WinRM request to http://HOSTNAME:5985/wsman failed: [code:2150858793] The WS-Management service cannot complete the operation within the time specified in OperationTimeout.
Collection of Oracle DB Alert Log takes longer than the configured WinRM timeout
Increase the WinRM timeout:
Referencing Microsoft KB Article ID: 976640 - "Increase the default value for the WinRM time-out"
Open an elevated command prompt, and then follow these steps:
WinRM timeout may need to be tuned according to the needs of the environment; in addition, collection timeout for the "OS Monitored Connection Profile (Windows)" of the Oracle DB agent may also need to be adjusted. To change, complete the following steps from the Foglight Web Interface:
