Unable to see DB2 top SQL statements information for over 2 weeks period (4292884)

When reviewing top SQL statements information for DB2 databases under the "Databases | History | Activity" dashboard, information cannot be seen for over a 2 weeks period.

Current statements are available, but statement older than 2 weeks are missing.

The default retention policy for DB2 top SQL data is 2 weeks.

The retention policies for the DB2 top SQL statements topology objects can be increased, but it can cause churn in the topology; performance impact will increase the longer the objects are set to be retained. Growth in the Foglight repository is also expected.

There are multiple topology types and properties related to the DB2 top SQL statements information; the ones that would need their retention modified are:

• DB2_Database_Top_SQL_Summary
• DB2_Top_Sql_Text
• DB2_Top_SQLs_Summary
• DB2_Database --> top_sqls_data
• DB2_Instance --> top_sqls_text_obs
• DB2_Partition --> top_sqls_data

To modify the retention policies:

1. From the left navigation panel, go to: "Administration | Data | Manage Retention Policies"
2. From the drop down list, select "DB_DB2"
3. Search for each of the topology types / properties that need to be edited.
4. Click on the "Age" for the "Purge" "Roll-up Period"
5. Edit the retention policy to the desired time.
6. Save changes.
