Inconsistent results for SQL Server "Disk Space Usage" and "Database Space Usage" reports -
Description
For a particular time frame, when it's been confirmed that agent collections were not running and metrics are not available; the following behavior is noticed when Foglight database reports are generated:
- The Disk Space Usage report displays "0.00" in most of the columns.
- The Database Space Usage report displays non-zero values in most of the columns.
Results are inconsistent as metrics are not available; a message should be displayed to imply that no data is available during the selected time frame. -
Cause
The Disk Space Usage report (Disk Capacity) will always display CURRENT value; if the FglAM is down then there will be no current value so it will display "0.00".
The Database Space Usage report (Database Capacity); will first attempt to retrieve the CURRENT value; if there is no current value, it will attempt to retrieve the latest available.Both reports should display the message "There Is No Data To Display" when there are no meaningful values in the TIME RANGE related reports.

STATUS
Waiting for fix to display the message "There is no data to display" where there are no meaningful values in TIME RANGE related reports. This will be included in a future release of the Foglight cartridge for SQL Server (SSFOG-667).
