"0x80041010 Invalid WMI class" error: No data under DTC dashboard in SQL Server Database overview -
Description
In SQLServer overview dashboard, under DTC (Distribution Transaction Coordinator) dashboard, could not see any data displayed. Observed "There is no data to dsiplay" messagein the chart. Observed a SQLServer alarm with the below error message
DBSS_DTC_Information Failed with the exception: The WMI execution of the script : [select AbortedTransactions,ActiveTransactions,CommittedTransactionsPersec,InDoubtTransactions,ResponseTimeAverage,TransactionsPersec from Win32_PerfFormattedData_MSDTC_DistributedTransactionCoordinator ] failed due to an invalid class error. You may need to refresh the Performance Counter Classes by executing the following command in the command prompt: "%windir%\system32\wbem\wmiadap.exe /f.".
Ran wbemtest.exe file and it failed in the server with "0x80041010 Invalid WMI class" error.

Resolution 1
As per KB 93113, refresh the Performance Counter Classes by executing the following command in the command prompt: %windir%\system32\wbem\wmiadap.exe /f
Resolution 2
If the refresh of the Performance Counter classes does not resolve the issue and the wbemtest test fails with the error "Invalid WMI class" please work contact Microsoft support as the issue can be duplicated using the Microsoft utility and occurs outside of the Foglight product.
