The below error may occur when opening the Forest Recovery Console:
"Cannot open database "ForestRecovery-Persistence requested by the login. The login failed"
WORKAROUND #1:
Grant the logged on account access to the SQL Database. The SQL Server is defined in the settings of the Recovery Manager console on the "Persistance" tab
WORKAROUND #2:
The SQL database may not exist on the expected SQL Server. The SQL Server is defined in the settings of the Recovery Manager console on the "Persistance" tab. Since the persistance database is used for temporary storage, it is safe to reinstall this feature to a new SQL server. Go to programs and features and "Change" the existing installation of Recovery Manager for AD Forest Edition. Don't add or remove anything just proceed to next. Wizard will prompt for SQL credentials and create new DB.
NOTE: If you are using SQL Express to host the database, by default, only the account that installed SQL Express has Admin rights to the Express instance. Please see the following KB Article for instructions on how to obtain SysAdmin rights to an SQL Express instance:
