When I attempt or try to install SQL Optimizer using Slient Install or manual install, I get the error:
"The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'NETCFSetup[1].msi' in the box below."
AND
“The file 'C:\Documents and Settings\U74981\Desktop\NETCFSetup.msi' is not a valid installation package for the product Microsoft .NET Compact Framework 1.0 SP3. Try to find the installation package 'NETCFSetup[1].msi' in a folder from which you can install Microsoft .NET Compact Framework 1.0 SP3.”
RESOLUTION:
1) Ensure that the "QuestSQLOptimizer_Oracle_7.5.1.1173.msi" file is saved in your Desktop location, not in any other location.
2) Rename this file to a shorter name i.e. "SQLOpt.msi", and then try running it again.
3) If you still get the same error, download the "NETCFSetup.msi" file from the link below (save it to your Desktop as well).
4) Point the SQL Optimizer install error box (Use Source: filed | click Browse) to the location of the “NETCFSetup.msi”, and then click on OK.
5) If you get the NEW ERROR message below, follow the next steps.
6) Rename the file “NETCFSetup.msi” to “NETCFSetup[1].msi”
7) Again, point the SQL Optimizer install error box (Use Source: filed | click Browse) to the location of the renamed “NETCFSetup[1].msi”, and then click on OK.
8) SQL Optimizer should now install properly
