Symptoms:
There are 2 reasons you could receive this error message,
The first and most frequent is due to the SQL database service not running. This can usually be diagnosed by the login window not responding.
The second is due to no access/role permission to the database.
Resolution:
First check that the SQL Database service is started
open a Run window by pressing the Windows key + R
Click ok
Scroll through the services till you get to SQL SERVER (MSSQLSERVER) this will be your default unless you have created an instance, in the screenshot my instance is (Paul) click Start the service you should then be able to login to Casewise or evolve.
If this service is already running please check with your SQL administrator and make sure the relevant permissions have been applied for the Casewise/user. For further details, please refer to your Casewise installation guide.
