1. There are three alarms that should be setup by going to “Configure | Alarms”
- SQL Server Connection Failure: Set by default
- Windows Connection Failure: Set by default in case the Windows side goes down
2. Go to “Configure | Alarm Actions” and set an action to send an email when those alarms fire (see
KB122528 or consult Help | Help Contents in Spotlight on SQL Server Enterprise)
3. Go to “Configure | Diagnostic Server | Configure the mail server” and set the mail server so Spotlight can send an email
