Receiving: ****** ScriptLogic has encountered a critical error while "Processing global variable definitions...". error upon logon.
Global variables present in Desktop Authority Manager Console.
In the Desktop Authority Manager Console 9.x and above browse to:
Client Configuration | Global Options |Computer Management Options and/or User Management Options | Definitions
If there are any Global Variable Definitions present under the "Definitions" view pane, they may be the cause of the error.
To confirm that the definitions are causing the error:
1. Place a semi-colon in front of the definitions to exempt from replication.
2. Save and Replicate
If you do not get the error message, the definitions may be the cause. Use the process of elimination to isolate which definition is causing the problem by removing the semi-colon then save and replicate. Log off and on of the affected machine after each save and replication. Perform this troubleshooting step for each definition until you receive the error again, thus identifying the problem definition. The error message can be viewed in the SLtrace.htm file of the affected user's temp directory:
Go to Start | Run and enter %Temp% | Desktop Authority | SLtrace.htm
3. Remove the definition or modify accordingly.
In Desktop Authority version 8.x Manager Console expand:
Global Options | Computer Management Options and/or User Management Options | Definitions
Follow the same troubleshooting steps above for Version 8.x as well.
