An error occurred when attempting to communicate with the Desktop Authority Manager Service.
Description
Desktop Authority console cannot be opened. An error message is displayed "An error occurred when attempting to communicate with the Desktop Authority Manager Service. Please ensure that the service is started and running"
Cause
The Desktop Authority Manager service may be using a port that is currently used by another application or their is a misconfigured/not configured self-signed certificate.
Resolution
Open the Start menu | All Programs | Quest | Desktop Authority | Desktop Authority Setup Tool. The Desktop Authority Manager Service port can be changed from the Service Management tab under the Desktop Authority Manager Service settings. After port has been change, restart the service. In the IIS Management tab, verify that there is a Desktop Authority Self-signed Certificate. If one is not available, select Create self-signed certificate and select apply.
