RESOLUTION 1:
If upgraded to version 9.0.1:
1. Close Toad
2. Locate and rename C:Program FilesQuest SoftwareToad for OracleUser FilesToad.ini to Toad.old
3. Locate and rename C:Program FilesQuest SoftwareToad for OracleUser Files Desktops.xml to Desktops.old
If upgraded to version 9.1.0
Reset to default toolbar and menu settings:
1. View | Toad Options | Toolbars/Menus | Toolbars
2. Under Configurations, select Toad Default - READ ONLY option
3. Click OK to close Options window.
If upgraded to version 12.x
Reset to default settings:
1. Close Toad for Oracle
2. Go to C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Dell\Toad for Oracle\ and rename the folder '12.x' to '12.x_OLD'
3. Launch Toad for Oracle. A new version folder will be created. Close Toad for Oracle one more time.
4. Go back to the application data directory path. Copy and paste the following files from the 12.x_OLD folder to the newly created 12.x folder (located under 'User Files' subdirectory):
- CONNECTIONS.ini
- CONNECTIONPWDS.ini
5. Launch Toad for Oracle one more time and try to use F8 key again.
RESOLUTION 2:
If using a multi function keyboard, please ensure F Lock is enabled. If using a laptop, ensure that the laptop keyboard hotkey drivers are installed properly (if any).
To further diagnose if the problem is directly coming from the F Keys, try opening a Notepad application, then do Alt + F4; does the Notepad app close? Also, open an Internet Explorer and press F11 twice; does the window go into Full Screen and back to normal screen?
