When spooling to output in Toad 10.1.1.8 the column type CHR(9), the tab control character is replaced by the space control character.
Run the following code in the Editor:
SPOOL "C:\...\TEST.lst";
SELECT 1 col0, CHR(9) tab, 'Label 1' FROM dual
UNION
SELECT 2 col0, CHR(9) tab, 'Label 2' FROM dual
UNION
SELECT 3 col0, CHR(9) tab, 'Label 3' FROM dual;
spool off;
Open the result TEST.lst with an Editor that can display hexadecimal. Notice that in the column for CHAR(9), the hex number 09 is missing.
If you run the same query in Toad 9.7.2.5, the hex number 09 does appear.
