From Release Notes for 5.7.3
This first release of the new DellUnixAgent is fully supported for use in monitoring Linux systems, but as it is a first release, some problems may occur. The existing UnixAgent is still fully supported for Linux OS monitoring, and we recommend that you continue to use the UnixAgent HostAgent type for production monitoring, unless advised otherwise by Quest personnel.
The DellUnixAgent includes a new ASP property, "Include SAN mounted disks". It is set to false by default. We recommend that you leave this set to false, unless advised otherwise by Quest personnel, pending further development of this feature.
If UnixAgent needs to be set or used:
WORKAROUND: Use the UnixAgent to monitor the Linux host.
The UnixAgent can be deployed from the wizard instead of the DellUnixAgent by selecting "*nix (Solaris, HP-UX, AIX)" from the "OS Type" drop down list instead of "Linux" under the "How and Agent Manager" page.
This workaround will be temporary until DellUnixAgent is fully implemented.
Depending on OS type, you can use either DellUnixAgent or UnixAgent.
- DellUnixAgent includes the Linux and Oracle Solaris agent types.
