AutoCad Lite 2007/2008 exhibits strange behavior when ran in conjunction with inactivity settings or produces the following error message when opening files, creating or editing a drawing:
Title: AutoCAD LT Error Aborting
Body: INTERNAL ERROR: GEDIT3
It has been reported that running AutoCad 2007/2008 in conjunction with inactivity settings can cause erratic behavior while opening files or when rendering drawings.
Various versions of Desktop Authority have run along with the full and lite versions of AutoCad (AutoCad 2004, 2005, 2006) without any ill-effects until the release of AutoCad Lite 2007/2008. There were purportedly over 2000 changes in the AutoCad code from version 2006 to 2007/2008. For this reason, we are currently attributing the issues experienced to this latest version of AutoCad.
Disable any inactivity elements from running on the affected machine(s), or disable API hooking by setting the following registry key on client machines running desktop Authority:
(Available in version 7.x only)
Hive: HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Key: Software\ScriptLogic\SLAgent
Value: NoAPIHooking
Type: REG_DWORD
Data: 1 (must be set to something other than zero)
Note: What is lost by disabling API Hooking is the ability of the SLAgent to determine if a logoff/shutdown command has been issued by the user if the user uses the Ctrl + Alt + Del keyboard sequence. This same command issued via the start menu or from the SLAgent icon on the systray will process logoff and shutdown events properly and as expected.
