The user has Oracle agents running on a ten database instances that are hosted on the same Windows physical server.
For each instance, the fatal alarm for DBO -- Listener Status has fired. The user is getting alerts on default listener name,
LISTENER. The environment does not have LISTENER as the naming convention.
Verify the default settings are in place for configuring the listener which has LISTENER for the name by default.
Oracle Listener on Windows platform looks for the Service Name, and Oracle listener on Unix platform looks for the
listener process.
The user was not aware of the existence and where to make the changes.
Here are two places to configure the agents for listeners:
1)Database dashboards | Administer agents | Listener
Or
2) Dashboard | Administration | Agents | Agents status | Highlight agent | edit properties | OS Monitored connection Profile (UNIX) | Listener names
The preferred way is going through the Databases dashboard utility.
