"ERROR - no error information available" when trying to connect -
Description
On a new installation of Toad for DB2 LUW 5.6, the following error appears when trying to connect:
"ERROR - no error information available"
Catalog was made manually.
However, connection is successful through Command Line Processor interface (CLP). -
Cause
Two DB2 clients were installed on the same machine. An individual IBM DB2 Client and Toad's Default DB2 Client, both clients were having a conflict between each other. -
Resolution
- Remove Toad for DB2 5.6, with its DB2 Client, which will leave only one DB2 client on the machine.
- Upgrade to Toad for DB2 6.1, which does not install a DB2 client.
