Make sure connection parameters are correct and try again" -
Cause
In the "Oracle Home/Client" from the logon on page, the default setting is "<Oracle Default Home/Client>." This default setting may not necessarily reflect the current Oracle client you are using.

Resolution
RESOLUTION 1:
On the logon window, from the "Oracle Home/Client" field, select the correct Oracle client and check the "Set as default SQL Navigator home client" box.
RESOLUTION 2:
If the above doesn't work, make sure your IT department gave you full rights to your Oracle files.
RESOLUTION 3:
1) Go to your Start Menu | right-click 'Computer' | Properties | 'Advanced System Settings'.2) Next go to the 'Advanced' tab | 'Environment Variables' button | 'System Variables' (lower half of the screen).3) If you see an ORACLE_HOME variable, please Edit it and rename it to ORACLE_HOME_OLD. Click OK and OK.4) Re-Test the issue.NOTE: If you see ORACLE_HOME under 'User Variables' (upper half of the screen), please rename it as well.
