Recovery Manager for AD and NetVault Integration (4269909)

It is possible for Recovery Manager for AD and Recovery Manager for AD Forest Edition to use backups from NetVault for object level restores.

The NetVault backup needs to be extracted by NetVault to a share location accessible to the Recovery Manager console.  Once this has been completed the backup must then be registered as an Offline Active Directory Database.  

You will need to have the ntds.dit file, all associated log files from the backup as well as the SYSVOL folder available to register the backup.  If the SYSVOL folder is not available object level backups can still be performed but you will be unable to restore any GPOs from the selected backup.

Once registered the backup will show in the list of available Active Directory backups with a separate icon.

As with any other manually registered backups, these backups will not be automatically removed by a retention policy but will need to be manually removed from the list of available backups.
