Schema Browser, ORA-02395: exceeded call limit on IO usage -
Description
On a Windows 7, a user connects to an Oracle 10 or 11 database.
Toad for Oracle opens in SQL Editor properly.
Clicking on Schema Browser, an hour glass appears and table listing does not populate even after a long wait.
Eventually an error will be returned: “ORA-02395: exceeded call limit on IO usage” -
Cause
This is an Oracle bug.
It is a defect in a specific Oracle version 10.2.0.4 and 11.1.0.7.
Bug 7295298 title is “Poor Subquery filter order / Queries against ALL_OBJECTS can be slow”.This is not an issue with Toad for Oracle.

Resolution
WORKAROUND:
Apply the patch referenced in Oracle bug 7295298 on these specific Oracle databases.
