Description
Installing a Migrator for NDS database on a SQL Instance fails with the following error message:

Cause
SQL security update MS16-136 is the cause of the issue.
If Migrator for NDS was installed before this SQL patch is applied, Migrator for NDS still runs correctly but the SQL Patch cannot run the DBInstaller to select a new SQL server instance and create new NDSMigrator database.

Resolution
WORKAROUND
1. Run SQL Server Management Studio and connect to the target SQL Server instance2. From File > Open > File... menu, open the SQL script "NDS Migrator.sql" located at the folder where Migrator for NDS is installed(C:\Program Files (x86)\Dell\Migrator for NDS\). Click "Execute" and refresh the connection to confirm that the database NDSMigrator is created.3. Run regedit.exe and select the registry key " HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Dell\Migrator for NDS\Database"Double click the registry value "SQL Server" and enter the SQL server instance in step 1.Double click the registry value "SQL Server Domain" and enter the SQL server domain name.4. Run Migrator for NDS 4.5 to create migration projects and confirm that it works correctly.STATUSIssue has been verified as a Defect with the ID 691796 by Development. Waiting for a fix in a future release of Migrator for NDS. -
