How to recall (move) content BLOB files from EndPoint back to SQL content database? -
Resolution
BLOB recall (move) is performed by Storage profile, all BLOB falling under that Storage profile will be recalled (including those in the System cache).
Steps to recall (move) the content BLOB files back to SQL content database
- Open SharePoint Central Administration UI on a web browser.
- Click on Application Management.
- Click on Storage Profiles.
- Look for the Storage Profile with the content Blob files, click on Jobs.
- Look for StoragePoint BLOB Recall, click on the preferred date and time to run the content BLOB files recall job.
- Click on Recall Now to move the content BLOB files from the Storage Profile to the SQL content database.
- Please note that the total size of the SQL Content database and BLOB Storage must be kept within 200 GB (This is a requirement from Microsoft to ensure data performance is not affected).
