Connection to Windows 2003 Terminal Server session only displays 16-bit colour depth
By default Windows 2003 Terminal Services sessions only display 16-bit colour depth, this can be reconfigured to display a maximum 24-bit colour depth
Set Group Policy for Maximum Colour Depth of Terminal Services
1- Create an OU for the Terminal Services Servers and move the server objects to the OU
2- Add a group policy to the OU then edit the policy settings
3- Browse to the following setting Computer Configuration | Administrative Templates | Windows Components | Terminal Services| Limit Maximum Colour Depth
4- On the Limit Maximum Color Depth Policy setting select enabled and then choose the required colour depth, 24-bit colour, from the drop-down list
5- Close the policy editor
