When opening or saving a file to a mapped network drive, it takes a very long time to complete the operation. Sometimes, only a blank or grayed dialog window pops up and clicking on it opens up another Windows Explorer. There is no problems accessing the network drive via Windows Explorer or other applications such as NotePad or MS Word.
Slow network or network hiccups.
WORKAROUND 1
Retry the save/open file operation a couple of times.
WORKAROUND 2
Check if there is an issue with the network connectivity.
WORKAROUND 3
Copy the file from the network drive into a local folder before accessing it from Toad.
WORKAROUND 4
Manually refesh (F5) the items within the dialog windows.
