I upgraded from SQL Navigator 5.5 to 6.x. It does not matter if I upgrade via Quest Installer or via silent install using the .MSI installer. My .SQL files are not associated to new versions of SQL Navigator. They are currently associated with Notepad.
Looking at file association properties, there is no SQL Navigator association for a .SQL file.
This is an expected behavior due the installer. From 6.0 onward, the Quest Installer is used to install SQL Navigator and this is a limitation of the installer and this option cannot be included.
WORKAROUND:
A workaround is to associate .SQL files manually with the SQL Navigator:
1. Right click on a .SQL file
2. Select Open With...
3. Select Choose Program and set it to SQL Navigator with the option to always use this program to .SQL files.
