Description
Email automation in Toad Data Point gave the following error:
"Socket connection has been refused by remote host. InnerException message follows: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it."

Cause
May need a static IP.

Resolution
RESOLUTION 1:
Make sure that a static IP is being used in the automation script. Please check with your IT/sys admin to verify static IP.RESOLUTION 2:
Test emailing out manually through telnet command line. Directions below.If you run into any issues while testing, check with your sys admin. it could indicate an issue with your settings that's also affecting Toad Data Point's email process.
RESOLUTION 3:
If Telnet command line email works, go to below link and refer to Method 9 under Resolution section. This talks about McAfee and Norton Personal Firewalls: -

Manually test email through Telnet: Note: You may need to enable telnet on your Windows first. Go to Control Panel | Programs | Programs and Features | Turn Windows Features On/Off. In the list, look for Telnet Client, and enable this. 1. From Start | Run, type in telnet. 2. At the Telnet window, open the SMTP server with the command open. The port number is typically 25. If your server requires login/ password, it may prompt you for that info. Examples: open relay.quest.com 25 open smtp.office123.com 25 You should see a response similar to the following. 220 Microsoft ESMTP MAIL Service ready at . The local domain name could be the name listed after the number 220 in step 2 but you might need to ask your Sys Admin. If successful you will see the number 250. 4.
