If a mailbox is manually switched before the synchronization is complete, will the remaining mail still synchronize?
The behaviour is by design.
When a mailbox is switched manually, the Mail Source Agent will continue extracting the rest of the mailbox items.
After a mailbox has been switched manually through the console prior to the mail sync being complete, the MSA will log on to the mailbox and recognize that it has been switched in directory, but will continue to extract messages until it has extracted all content from the mailbox.
Once all of the mail has been extracted, the mailbox is marked as "Complete", and the following message is written to the Mail Source Agent log:
CFolder::SetMMState TraceMsg 4109 Item '/o=Source ORG/ou=First Administrative Group/cn=Recipients/cn=mailboxname' is marked as "Complete". (Folder: '', SourceKey: 'E8A574C9A03BD542ADFDBE9C0721620B00000000384F')
Note: Any new messages that are created in the mailbox between the time of switching and the time that the mailbox is marked as "Complete" will also be extracted for synchronization.
Messages created after the mailbox is marked as "Complete" do not get synchronized by default. To synchronize these messages, right-click your mail collection, click on "synchronization", check the "Synchronize only new mailbox items and changes made in the already switched mailboxes" check box, and click "OK".
