Description
The Performance Investigator (PI) chart "Active Time" is not being displayed.When selecting another chart type, for example Area or Plot chart, the graphs are displayed, but when selecting chart type "Stacking Area" it does not work.In the log file the following error appears:---ERROR [http-exec-118] org.apache.catalina.core.ContainerBase.[Catalina].[localhost].[/console].[Portal Servlet] - Servlet.service() for servlet [Portal Servlet] in context with path [/console] threw exceptionjava.lang.IllegalStateException: Error rendering part: chartImage in view: 'system:oracle_newpa_performance.ChartTops' in top-level view: 'system:oracle_realtime_performance.2' for user: 'foglight'[...]Caused by: java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: 50--- -

Resolution
WORKAROUND:Attached a groovy script "workaround_FillResourceTop10Metrics.groovy" to improve the Stacking Area chart.NOTE:Make sure you have a valid backup of Foglight. In case anything is going wrong, restore the backup.Be aware that the script will improve the situation, but there are still some limitations. After the script has been applied, you might see data for 15 minutes when selecting 1 hour time frame, but when selecting 4 hours time frame you will see data for 2 hours. This behavior is explained in the attached PDF "ExplainStackingAreaChartBehavior.pdf"To apply the script follow the steps below - see also attached screen shot "FindFunction.png":- Go to "Configuration | Definitions | Databases | Oracle"
- Select "Functions" from the DropDown field and search for "fill"
- Open the function "Fill Resource - Top 10 Metrics"
- Click on "Edit"
- Backup the existing script code into a file
- Now copy over the content of the new script "workaround_FillResourceTop10Metrics.groovy"
- Finally save the change
